Two day super jeep expedition crossing a glacier
First we will head to Húsafell Nature Reserve with a stop at the Hraunfossar and Barnafossar waterfalls and the most powerful hot spring in Iceland, the Deildartunguhver. We power onwards and onto the Langjökull Glacier, Iceland’s and Europe´s second biggest glacier. Located between the Eiríksjökll Glacier and Hofsjökull Glacier, surrounded by high mountains and volcanoes, the Langjökull reveals scenic views like no other. We will cross the glacier, driving on the snow and ice in our specially modified super jeep. Descending down to the Central Highlands at the Hveravellir Hot Springs and mountain chalet we will take a relaxing dip in the natural hot pot and enjoy the amazing views and the clear mountain air. Your guide will then barbeque Icelandic lamb for dinner and we will sleep in the rustic chalets in Hveravellir.
The second day of adventure begins with a drive along the ancient trading route between south and north, the infamous Kjölur road. We make our first stop at Gullfoss waterfall and from there we drive to the Geysir Hot Springs where the spouting Strokkur belches a 20 meter high column of super-heated water into the air every 4 minutes or so. After lunch you have a choice between lava caving or snorkeling in the Silfra ravine in Þingvellir.
